Technical information

Like any online service, our providers' systems automatically process technical information such as IP addresses and request times to deliver the service, keep it secure and prevent abuse. We may also use Apple App Attest and DeviceCheck, or Google Play Integrity, to confirm requests come from a genuine copy of the app. We don't use this information to identify you or to build profiles.

3. Selling and sharing

We may change how Sumzoo works over time, for example by adding features, advertising or optional purchases. If a change affects what information we collect or how we use it, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.

4. Who can see your information

5. Where your information is stored

Our servers are in the United States (Google Cloud, Iowa). If you live elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. Where the law requires it, we rely on our providers' standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards for these transfers.

6. How long we keep it

7. Deleting your data and your choices

In the app, go to Me → Delete my data. This permanently deletes your player ID, nickname, leaderboard entries, game sessions and feedback from our servers, and clears the app on your device. It can't be undone.

You can also email us to ask for a copy of your information, a correction or deletion. Because we don't know who you are, we may ask for your player ID or nickname so we can find your information.

8. Children

Sumzoo is for a general audience and is suitable for all ages. It is designed so that nobody, including children, needs to give us personal information to play: there are no accounts, and players choose a made-up nickname. We use a random player ID only to support the app's internal operations, such as keeping a nickname and ranking games.

We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent age where you live). If a nickname or feedback message from a child contains personal information, we will delete it when we become aware of it. Parents and guardians can contact us at any time, or use Delete my data on the child's device, to have a child's information deleted.

9. Security

Information is encrypted in transit and at rest by our providers. Only our server code can change the database, and access is limited to what the app needs. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we will notify you and the authorities of a data breach where the law requires it.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the use of your information, to receive a copy of it, and to complain to your local data protection authority. For people in the EU and UK, we process information because it is needed to provide the service you ask for (contract), and for our legitimate interests in keeping the game fair and safe. To exercise your rights, use Delete my data or email us. We won't treat you differently for using your rights.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We'll change the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app. Continuing to use Sumzoo after a change means the updated policy applies.
